Personalities meet at University of Lisbon to discuss Cape Verde 04 June 2012

Various Cape Verdean personalities, including President Jorge Carlos Fonseca, will participate on June 9 in an international conference entitled “Reflecting on Cape Verde and its relationship with the world.” The event will take place at the administrative building of the University of Lisbon, in Portugal.

In addition to Cape Verdean President Jorge Carlos Fonseca, Portuguese assistant secretary for parliamentary affairs Feliciano Duarte, retired university professor Adriano Moreira and former Portuguese finance minister Jorge Macedo will speak at the event.

Other speakers include former Cape Verdean education minister Corsino Tolentino, university professor and constitutional expert Wladimir Brito, director of Lisbon Law School Eduardo Vera-Cruz, former Cape Verdean State Secretary of Finances and former Bank of Cape Verde Olavo Correia, University of Coimbra administrator researcher Kátia Cardoso and University of Lisbon dean António Nóvoa.

The conference will also feature interventions by Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) executive secretary Domingos Simões, Cabo Verde Investimentos president José Duarte, Portuguese legislator José Castro, AICEP president Pedro Reis, Cape Verdean ambassador to Portugal Madalena Neves, PwC partner Jaime Esteves, Montepio Geral representative José Cunha and RDP África commentator José Luís Hopffer Almada.
